Hi Great site,
I have a Capri 80 (in storage) I purchased it in the 70's and used it for a few years.
I hope to restore it with my son in the next few years.
The previous owner had broken some blades on the cooling fan and butchered the internals of the Magneto trying to get the flywheel off without a puller.
I rewound the coils, repaired the points and the fan, however it was never 100% reliable.
I'm hoping to track down the internals of the magneto, points condenser, coils(one for ignition and one for lighting ) and a high tension coil.

Bought a '58 Capri 80 from a lady in Cambridge for £15 in 1965. Restored it and used to for school and to pass my RAC/ACU and DOT tests. Fred Hanks from Brum made it go with one of his special exhaust Mods. A great start to my motorcycling. Now own Ariel NH '54, FZS 1000 '01 and Versys '07 and ride them all.

Garellie Capri 80cc Scooter, My first two wheeler. 1958/60 model bought for five pounds in Hazel Grove near Stockport Chesire. Two shilling to take home to Buxton on the train. Got her running but the throtell stuck wide open and I had to take a huge run around the town to get home. Caught by the local Bobbie (and resultant boot up the bum by Dad) on a playing field with five kids on the back. Restored her and cannot remember who I sold it to.

Nice to see someone is keeping the memory of these machines alive My father bought a 70 in 1959 I passed mytest on it in 1965 The speedo rarely worked but we calculated that it did 84000 miles commuting to work between these dates. I still have the machine and 2 other 98's . Graham

An excellant website that I periodically visit to glean further info for my '62 Capri 80 which I hope to get back on the road this summer with a bit of light fettering. I wish the UK scootering mags would feature the lesser known scooters, though I do like the classic lines of the Lambrettas. Cheers
