It was my honor to be a member of the 50th Civil Engineers Squadron from 1988 to 1993. I was one of the last people to leave the base... seeing it go from a thriving cold war community to a ghost town. It broke my heart to leave Hahn. The memories I have of the place and people are my fondest.

Spent 1966-1970 at Hahn in Food Service at Zulu and Victor Alerts as well as the Main Facility. I was with the 50th and sometimes attached to the 496th. I'm looking for Dick Emerson, a friend that I played football with during my tour. I'm a high school economics and goverment teacher.

I was stationed at the Hahn Base Hospital from December 1969 until January 1971. I remember the cold, wet, and foggy winter, and the great people that I met in a time so long ago. Tony, Steve, Bob, Ed if you are out there give me an email. If anyone worked at the Hospital at that time please email me. One of the best year of my life.

I was stationed at Hahn after a tour at Cam Rahn AFB Viet Nam from Sept. 1969 to Sept. 1972. I was a flight line jet engine mechanic with the 50th FMS. I loved that tour. My wife, Paula, and I went back to explore the old stomping grounds in Sept. 2001.

My father was stationed at Hahn from 63-66. Remember the Mace missile site looking out our bathroom window while we were living in Dickenschield.

I was on Major Kirkwood's launch crew from 1961-1964. We served at Sites IV, V, and mainly at Site VI. Many great memories at the Rod and Gun Club and all the beer joints outside the main gate. Many a cold walk around on a slick missile that had just been de-iced also! I can recall at 4 AM thinking "does anyone know I'm here."

I was at both Hahn and Sembach in 1960-1962. Air Police Returned to both bases several years ago and had nice tour of Hahn which is now a commercial airport. The former barracks/mess hall were still there. Also visited Sembach now an annex of Ramstein.

Started in the first Mace "A" class in Denver in the summer of 1959. Got to Orlando in January 1960. Arrived at Hahn late 1960 and departed the weekend after JFK was assinated. Started as a 2 stripe Guidance guy in missile maintenance and was put on a launch crew in 61 after some more people showed up. Seemed like a waste to me. Worked two different sites with Capt Ussery and Tsgt Thompson and then with Capt Ruvolo and SSgt MacEntire.
